Surrender

Surrender is not the easy thing
an opt out clause for a beaten king
to just say yes when no’s too hard
or willingness to drop one’s guard.

The fact is when the fight is over
when passion’s gone from the holdover
there’s always some remaining urge
to carry on as instincts surge.
