Drag and Drop organizer

I was curious, if I accidentally "pop open" a folder and "drop" an item into it while reorganizing, does that change the "last modified" date on the folder, thereby potentially disqualifying me from a contest where the folder and contents has to be "frozen" until judging?

This hasn't actually happened yet; I was just wondering so I could exercise caution. I love the drag and drop feature otherwise - it's super useful and quick.
