Yes, I Can Smile and Still Be in Pain!

         Our deepest thanks to all of you who entered this contest. Words alone do not let Kenzie and me express to you how deeply each and every one of you touched our hearts with your story.
         You have made the judging extremely difficult. How? Each story is as wonderfully unique as the person that told it. I have agreed to help Kenzie with the judging, and I'm in the process of reading each of your entries for the second time. And it's not getting any easier to make choices. Your emotions, and choice of words in expressing yourselves and your situation make each and every one of your stories something special.
         There are two things that are openly visible about each and every entry. And those two things are a part of exactly what makes this contest so difficult to judge, yet so very meaningful. First, the courage each and every one of you showed by sharing your story. And second, the fact that not one of you has given up the fight.
         Each of your stories showed us over again that this forum, and this contest, were meant to be. We thank you for the way you touched our hearts as well as those of other readers, and for the way you showed us the courage you have inside. With those two things in mind, all of you are winners where it truly counts, and we applaud you.
         Kenzie has already said when the contest winners will be announced. But remember: that doesn't mean it's over. The forum will remain, for all of us, and anyone else who qualifies, to continue to share our experiences, helping ourselves as well as others understand. And another contest is in the works for a future date.
