Budroe, I am sorry to hear about the death of yet another student and that he was from your community. Life is so precarious and death is such a shock even under normal circumstances. The slaughter at Virginia Tech was by no means a normal way to die. The scale was so large; the victims so young; the deranged mind of the killer, unfathomable. Each time something like this happens in the life of an individual, the world seems a scarier place and it becomes harder to hope for the future. The challenge for many of us is to live each day to its fullest and enjoy whatever good things life has to offer, without dwelling too much on the possiblity of a horrible tragedy such as this befalling us. If we learn anything, it should be something along the lines of the need for stricter gun control and the identification and treatment of kids with serious mental disorders, while not become paranoid about anyone who is different. I send my best wishes to you and your community in coming to grips with this tragedy and moving on as best you can, each in your own time.
