There are many cases of both. The origin of my "human name" Gulp stems from the typical reaction from humans. On the other hand, I've found realms where I have enjoyed the freedom of not having to disguise myself. These are typically realms used to the presence of dragons and/or very magical in nature. Of note is I fight evil regardless of the situation.
