Re: Re: Re: Irony of reviews
Let's do some math -

You've been here 2.5 years, and have made 13 reviews - just over 5 reviews a year.

By contrast - I've been here 15 years, and have made 2,856 reviews - about 190 reviews each year.

Now, to be fair, I've had years where I made 100+ in a month, and others where I didn't put out any in several months.

This year, I got a good incentive to put out at least one review a day - the 7-day Reviewing Merit Badge (along with the other 7-day badges) encourages this. Likewise, I'm part of a nice group, where, based upon certain activities, such as writing decent sized reviews, you can grow a dragon, and get rewarded for them being at certain stages in their growth.

Now, I've looked over your reviews, and, let me tell you, they aren't that helpful. I mean, it's one thing to give out criticism, but you don't point out where things were good, or where it was done right. Most of your reviews look like they are just complaints - no one is going to want to review a complainer.

Also, you have just 2 items, made within the past week - 100+ items are made every day - not everyone will see them right away, especially since they won't show up under the Read A Newbie thing. Also, it looks like you're not a Public Fan of anyone, and no one seems to be a Public Fan of you - folks aren't going to know that you posted something if they aren't your friend at the very least.

So, how to get reviews - Be Helpful while being Active.

Join a group - plenty encourage reviews, even rewarding you for them. In fact, it's a great way to be reviewed in return.

Enter a contest - you'll get at least a few reviews that way.

Be Social - it might get someone to give you a review.

Most importantly, don't act like a jerk - that's a great way for folks to never review you in the first place.

As for showing off advertisements to a furry club - I run the Non-Humans R Us group. It's a fun place for those who like writing sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and other such items, where non-human characters are the big draw. Of course, if you're not a fan of sci-fi, fantasy, or horror, you don't have join.

See you around.

What are friends? Someone to lend a hand when we find ourselves in quicksand, shout with glee when we cross the finish lines, even if in last place, whisper a candid review when we enter the room with a run of toilet paper stuck to the heel of our shoe. In short, someone like you!
