I think Labor Day has morphed into something from it's original intent. It was meant to bring attention to unfair labor conditions and it has. Many laws now guarantee good working conditions for laborers. Their is the 8 hour a day, 5 day work week. There are no child laborers. Unions negotiate health benefits and retirement benefits. I'm very grateful for that. All these laws support me as a laborer. To answer the question: To keep these laws in places and honor the day is enough for me.
