This choice: Bring the child to a cave and let it fend for itself. • Go Back... So, this is where we had started. Bowhan was running out of the village with the cursed child in the bundle of clothes in his arms. Bowhan didn't even look at the child in his hands, because he feared that he might change his mind if he did so.
He planed on leaving the dragon child in a cave that he had found in the woods one time. The child would have to fend for himself, because Bowhan wouldn't do it. Sure, it sounded cruel, but Bowhan had no choice. He couldn't be caught caring for something that looks like a monster that he kills for a living. Besides, no one else would want to care for a dragon. Dragons were considered bloodthirsty beasts. Even if this was a baby and it was half-human, anyone would want to kill it out of fear.
Hell, Bowhan would have killed the half-dragon too. Though, he couldn't, because it was his. It was his fault that it had been brought into the world. "I can't kill it," he thought to himself, "It's kind of like my son." Yeah, he figured out that it was a boy.
Eventually, Bowhan reached the cave without any troubles at all. He entered deep within he cave and set the child down. He uncovered it revealing that it had changed completely into a dragon. It was now walking on all fours. It had a long tail and large wings, though it's body was about the size of a house cat. It had black scales and small spikes that ran down its spine to the tip of the tail. It hand horns on it's head which meant it was male. The only human-like appearance was the eyes. The eyes were blue, the same dark blue eyes that Bowhan had.
Bowhan didn't understand how the dragon child's appearance had changed so drastically. Though, Bowhan didn't care to figure it out. He now felt that it was easier to leave the child, now that it looked like any ordinary baby dragon.
As soon as the dragon was out of the bundle, it crawled over to Bowhan's ankle. The dragon snuggled up against his leg. Bowhan pushed the dragon child away. The dragon looked up at Bowhan in confusion. "Get away from me you freak," Bowhan ordered. The dragon seemed to understand those words and began to cry. Bowhan looked away so that he couldn't be affected by the tears.
Bowhan got up and began to head for the exit of the cave. The dragon chased after Bowhan crying out to him. Bowhan stopped and looked down. The dragon snuggled up against his leg again. Bowhan was starting to feel bad for the dragon child and started getting second thoughts. Then he took a deep breath and remembered that it has to be this way.
Bowhan kicked the dragon's ribs. The dragon gave out a whimper of pain and backed away. "Stay the hell away from me if you know what's good for you monster!" Bowhan warned. The dragon just stared up at him with tears in its eyes.
Bowhan looked away and continued to walk out. The dragon didn't follow this time. Though the dragon made one final attempt to keep his father from leaving. "Daddy!" it cried.
Bowhan turned around. He stared down into the blue tearful eyes of the dragon that was so much like his. Bowhan then stated, "I'm not your father. How could I be a father to something as hideous as you? You're a monster and I could never love something like you."
With that, Bowhan left. The dragon child did nothing. He just stood there staring at the entrance. He was hoping that his father would come back for him, but it never happened. The dragon child laid down on his underbelly. He then laid his head on his paws and cried. Eventually, he cried enough to put himself to sleep. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
