The dragon child begged to the stranger, "Please! Don't make me a slave! Please sir, I don't want to be a slave."
"So you can talk." The man stated in an emotionless tone before he gives an evil chuckle, "I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that talking dragons aren't worth as much as dragons that can't talk. But the good news is that I have just the thing to fix that."
The man reached into his pack and pulled out a small bottle. Then he griped the small dragon by the head and poured the liquid in the bottle into the dragon's mouth. The dragon gasped in surprise and pain as the strange liquid momentarily burned his throat like fire. The dragon opened his mouth to demand what that strange liquid was, but to his shock no sound came out of his mouth.
The man laughed as he took the ends of the net the dragon is in and dragged him out of the cave, "There, now you're worth much more now that you can't talk."
The small and young dragon whimpered in fear and continued to struggle uselessly in the net. The man dragged him over to a large wagon and lifted him into the back. The cruel man grabbed a strange collar and locked it around the dragon's neck before he could resist. The dragon whimpered as he looked at the collar and saw strange arcane runes etched on it.
"That collar was made just for dragons. It's magic and if you try to breathe fire the collar will start to choke you." The man tossed the dragon into an uncomfortably small cage and laughed as he flicked the reins at the horses that obediently started to pull the carriage, "Oh, the collar will also start choking you if I say the word Sunflower."
The dragon gasped coughed and wheezed as the collar constricted around his scale covered neck. He hopelessly clawed at the collar, desperate for air as his lungs began to burn.
The evil man laughed and said, "Sunflower."
The collar loosened enough to let the dragon breathe again. The dragon gasped and breathed fresh air then let out a pitiful sob as he started to cry. Why was this man being so cruel to him?
"Humans are your masters now beast!" The man shouts, "Obey without question or the collar will be used to discipline you. Do you understand?"
Eyes wide with fear, the dragon meekly nods.
The man drove the wagon onwards until he reaches a town. He sets the dragon's cage out on the street for all to see. The caged dragon attracted quite a large crowd of onlookers. Many of them praised the man for capturing the beast. The dragon felt scared stiff as dozens of humans stood around his cramped cage laughing at him, staring at him or rattling his cage.
Many people were interested in owning the dragon and fierce bidding broke out. Eventually someone bid higher than anyone else was willing to go and the dragon was sold. The dragon whimpered fearfully as his cage was loaded up into another wagon.
"Just say the word Sunflower if you want to discipline the beast." The man told the buyer as he was given the money. The collar started to choke the dragon, but thankfully the man quickly said the word again and it stopped.
The wagon then hauled the dragon away. The dragon trembled nervously. He can't help but wonder what his buyer is going to do with him.
