After walking a mile down the dirt path, Maria finds herself in a more densely forested area. Less light is making its way through the trees, and the sound of running water has faded to almost nothing.
It's pretty quiet... Except for the constant gurgling coming from the orange vixen's stomach.
"Yes, yes, I know..." she says to her stomach. "But there's nothing I can do."
Her mind begins to wander to thoughts of food. The sweet apple pie she had when she was last in town, the warm, fluffy loaf of bread that that one lady gave you for stopping a thief...
The succulent turkey she'd eaten when she was invited to a banquet... Soon, her mind was on meat.
Then, it hit her: She could hunt! Sure, she wasn't the most nimble, and didn't have the best tools for the job, but she figured it couldn't be that hard...
So, Maria began crawling through the bushes, with her sword drawn...
