As Shannon walked along the lonely road the Sirens haunting moan grew weaker and weaker until it could no longer be heard. It seems she had made the right choice in ignoring it. The sun was shining brightly and there were few clouds in the sky, but the many entangled branches of the trees kept the road cool and shaded while also providing just enough light to clearly see far ahead. If anything showed up Shannon would be able to spot it before it could get too close, which was a very good thing. For the better part of an hour she walked along without encountering so much as a single Beast or level one, then something unexpected happened. The moans of several Sirens began echoing through the forest from all sides, Shannon was surrounded. The first Siren from before must have been bait to draw survivors into the forest so they could be trapped. "Shit, there must be a dozen of these things in here!" She shouted as she began running as fast as she could up the road, trying desperately to get away from the symphony of voices lingering in the air. Unfortunately, no matter how fast she ran she didn't seem to be making any progress, they were still closing in on her.
Up ahead Shannon could see a wrecked car off to the left side of the road with a young woman sitting on the hood with her hands in her face. She seemed to be human (no blood on her or any obvious injuries) and in desperate need of help. Shannon began running over towards her as one of the Sirens poked her head out from behind a large tree on the right side of the road and began moving towards the woman on the hood of the car. Since she didn't want to alert more of these things Shannon didn't call out to warn the woman and instead began firing at the Siren as it drew closer to her. Two shots hit it in the chest and it began to bleed as it turned towards Shannon. It opened its mouth to scream just as one of the bullets connected with her head and she fell over without so much as a groan. When Shannon got to the woman she could see tears rolling down her face and it became obvious she had been crying alone here for quite some time. "Help... me..." She moaned softly without looking up at Shannon. Something didn't seem right...
