Sunlight spread out upon the horizon, its warm rays of light spreading over the treetops, peaking through the leaves to create a dazzling morning light show on the forest floor every time a gentle breeze blows through their branches. As with most mornings, the sounds of cheerful calls from the surrounding wilderness fill the air, joining the sound of the ever moving ocean of leaves above. Unfortunately with each morning comes some moment the ruins it, in this case school.
"Come on Rose wake up! Were gonna be late again if you don't hurry."
The Eevee opened her eye's slowly, the flickering of the sun through the leaves above making her eyes burn until another small figure stood before her. A small grey haired pup with a dark grey patch of hair on her belly and her face stood before her.
"Come on! You don't wont to get stuck in detention with all the other bad pokemon! You know what they say about the smaller pokemon who go to detention with bigger pokemon!"
Rose cleared her head and stood before her only friend Emma, an upbeat poochyena who always seems to end up in the wrong places at the wrong times. Emma, who was only about a month younger than the eevee, was always seen as a younger sister. Having run far away from her abusive family, Emma wondered the region, stealing berries and pokeblocks in order to stay alive, but unfortunately her success rate was little and occasionally she would go days without food. After about a month of living on her own, she became ill, passing out on a rock near a creek during a storm. For once in her unfortunate life, faith shined down upon her, because moments later, just when the storm began to pick up, a young eevee with a bag full of wild, assorted berries around her neck, came running up along the bank of the creek just in time to spot Emma's nearly lifeless form before the flash flood got her. She was quickly dragged by the tail, onto the highest bank where they waited out the storm in a hollowed out red wood tree. If it were not for Rose's impeccable timing and plentiful berry bag full of oran, lum, and other assortment of wild berries, Emma's world would have came to a permanent end at the bottom of a creek bed. Ever since that day the two have been living alone together on their own, taking advantage of the free pokemon enrollment school and using it as a place for food, shelter, and knowledge.
Rose yawned, stretching out along the grass before get on her feet. "How you can get up this early and be full of energy is beyond me." She said in tired amusement as she watched the excited poochyena bouncing circles around her with both of their book bags in her mouth. It wasn't a moment later that she felt the sudden weight of her own book bag bring her wobbly stature back to the ground. "I hate mornings..."
"Whoops... Im soooo sorry! I guess I should have waited for you to wake up a little more before giving you your bag." Emma said, her tail between her legs. She always made these little mistakes no matter how hard she tried, but because of all her energy, she always had a hard time understanding the words of wisdom she has been told countless times. "Look before you leap."
"You didn't eat another citris berry for breakfast did you? You know how hyper you get when you eat those in the morning." Rose said as she stood up, once again adjusting her stance, but this time with a new load hanging around her neck. "Okay Im ready Emma... Time for another day of school." She said in a flat tone as the two friends started along the path to school. "Man I could really go for a citris berry right about now. Could you be sure to remind me to stop by the school garden along the way Emma, or else I might fall asleep." Rose said wobbling along side Emma.
