Gotta Swap 'Em All

This is in effect "Pokémon InformationOpen in new Window.

Here are the two fanfictions I mentioned that inspired me to make this choice, please check them out.

Synchro Malfunction  Open in new Window.
PokeSwap Beginnings  Open in new Window.

The first two options are taken heavily from those. In all of the choices, any Pokémon turned human will be attracted to its trainer if its new body is the opposite gender of the trainer. If a trainer's Pokémon swaps bodies with someone, the trainer can't swap with another Pokémon (the trainer can still swap with his/her Pokémon though). Ash's Pikachu, Greninja, Bayleef, and Lucario must be amongst the swapped. A human in a Pokémon's body will subconsciously find itself trusting its trainer. A Pokémon in a human's body can still understand Pokémon speech.

In all choices, Serena can swap with Greninja, if so, Greninja must make her default outfit be Serena’s Neo Champion outfit from Masters EX, and her hair must grow out to fit the hair length.

Storyline A: After Aim to be a Pokémon Master, Ash goes to Professor Oak's after getting a letter, only to find Misty, Brock, Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Clemont, Bonnie, Serena, all of his Alolan Classmates, Gladion, Goh, and Chloe there. Clemont revealed he found out about a device that can allow trainers to synch up with Pokémon to experience what it's like, and he decided to make his own version. Instead of a remote like device, he made headsets, which link to the trainers in question's Poké Balls, making it be their own Pokémon used. He invited Ash's long term traveling companions to test it, knowing it would be something Ash would enjoy, and believing it would be a good group bonding activity. Everyone else has already used it at least once, as Ash got there so much later, and he's been testing with lower amounts active, having just finished five at a time (he made ten headsets). Ash goes to use it, and, feeling confident, they decide to go with all ten being used. For some reason or another, all the others are used by the girls except Bonnie. As they begin to start, Ash remembers how when he used the Bond Phenomenon with Greninja, it felt like they were one... at that same moment, Greninja is finishing up with the last of the vines, going Ash Greninja to do it. Greninja had been avoiding using that form, not sure how well it would work, so far apart from Ash, but felt this last push was worth the risk, however, these things all happening at once causes a backlash, and instead of how the devices were supposed to work, the devices redirect towards Ash's Pokémon, and explode like most of Clemont's inventions usually do. Ash is okay, but the girls and the Pokémon that they connected to are unconscious.

Whichever girl Pikachu ended up in wakes up, revealing herself as Pikachu, and "Pikachu" wakes up, having complete amnesia. A couple other pairs wake up, and it is soon theorized that instead of sharing a body, the girls and Pokémon swapped, and the girls in Pokémon bodies are suffering from memory loss. It is soon pointed out that there are more humans passed out there than Pokémon, and one of the girls wakes up, revealing herself to be Greninja. Misty and Lans must swap with Water types, Mallow must swap with a Grass type, and Iris must swap with Ash's Dragonite.

Storyline B: Same as storyline A, but Misty, Lana, Mallow, and Iris can't swap with their preferred types.

Storyline C: After Aim to be a Pokémon Master, Ash faces off against Giovanni, who uses the device that the villain of the Detective Pikachu movie (haven't played the games, so I don't know if it applies to them too) used to possess Mewtwo on the Mewtwo he created (Giovanni found files with info of Mewtwo in Team Rocket's database) we come in as the battle wraps up, in Galar. Ash has regained Greninja, and captured Nebby, movie Latias, and Larvitar (I'm doing this for two reasons, one, Nebby and Larvitar were shown amongst his Pokémon, despite not being captured, and two, to give more potential options for specialists of their types). Greninja and Lucario are in their powered up forms and Pikachu is Gigantamaxed. Ash decides to combine the power of his Pikashunium Z with a G-Max move. Giovanni is defeated, but before he is ejected from Mewtwo's body, he sends out a Psychic pulse as a last ditch effort. The device fries Giovanni's brain through the overload, but his last move causes a mass swap around the world. Many trainers swap with one of their Pokémon, and some with others' Pokémon. Humans in Pokémon bodies have amnesia, as do Pokémon that don't belong to Ash in human bodies, but all of Ash's Pokémon in human bodies remember, due to Ash being at ground zero when it happens. Only captured Pokémon can be involved in the switch, released Pokémon still count.

All type specialists who swap must swap with a Pokémon of their preferred typing, Growlie must swap with an Officer Jenny, and Brock's Chancey must swap with a Nurse Joy. Ash's Charizard and Butterfree, along with their mates, Ash's Tauros, Delia, Kukui, Burnet, and Professor Oak can't be involved in the swaps. Everyone who is required to be swapped in storylines A and B are required to be swapped with one of Ash's Pokémon, except for Chloe, who may also swap with one of Goh's Pokémon. Iris must swap with either Ash's Dragonite or Latias. The Pokémon turned humans with amnesia will start out acting like Pokémon, but cand still "speak human," and will recognize that they have human bodies.

Storyline D: Same as storyline C, but the specialists can't swap with their preferred types, and Growlie and Brock's Chancey aren't required to swap.
