James investigated the door and saw that the doorknob got broken. He carefully pushed the door open trying his best not to make any sound. He peeked through the slot that he made and observed if there is someone in the lighted room. He knew too well that barging in not wise, especially if he is not familiar with the area.
There wasn't anyone though. He pushed the door wide open and entered the room. The room is filled with nothing but machines, all turned on. The lights on the machines kept flickering.
James hears a far away sobbing. He didn't know who it was, but it sounded a cry of a child. He wondered the chances of a child staying in the vicinity -- it was very slim. He followed the sound, his feet leading him to the next room of where he is. He approached the door he saw, leaned against it to make sure that he wasn't hallucinating; upon confirming that what he is hearing is really present, he slowly opened the door, his defenses up.
A child curled up like a ball sat in the corner of the room.
James slowly approached the child letting his guard down. He had a one-track mind seeing the child, <I>"what can a child do"</I>, though he got surprised by the child as it turns out the child is somewhat like an undead zombie-like.
The child with a rotting face, too indescribable to words as if it had been scraped by something, torn clothes, nails broken leaped onto James. It attacked James fiercely and didn't give a chance for the man to retaliate.
James did as he could to defend himself as the child kept attacking him. He is too close to the child to fire a shot; his hands were already busy enough to holding the child from preventing himself being wounded.
The child was strong which he didn't expect that would be able to hold him down.
James and the child wrestled on the floor. The machines got kicked, things became messy as the stuff got scattered while the two wrestled on the floor.
