The First thing he saw was a bare foot, though in truth David couldn't tell if what he saw was a foot or a paw for the amount of thick brown fur that covered it. Then another foot/paw and a leg swung into view as a giant towering hundreds of feet above his head came into full view. It was a Bear, or at least it looked like one. Dressed only in blue overalls. David concluded that it was male. Walking behind the first giant was a creature of equal stature. This one resembled a Puma and dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. His tail swayed back and forth behind him.
"So, what do you want to play?"
" How about Checkers?"
Though loud, there voices were distinctively that of children. Two young boys. Other than that, this was a dream come true for David. Being a Macrophile--
"Okay, I'll get it."
The thundering footfalls shook David out of his train of though as the Bear Cub walked over to the dresser and stopped just a few feet from where David was hiding. He studied the paw, noting the length of the claws and the thickness of the fur. He could see the grey pads under the fur, smooth and devoid of callous. Though he had a thing for paws he had to remind himself that this was a child and nothing to get excited about. His partents on the other hand were a different matter all together. Getting the checker board and playing pieces off the dresser, the Bear Cub walked over to his friend where they sat on their knees on the floor. David watched them set the pieces together with fascination. Who wouldn't ? It was like going back in time and observing Dinosaurs.
'Welcome to Jurassic Park.' thought David.
Something compelled him to get a closer look at the two Giants. Whether it was his macrophile or his sense of adventure or the sense or curiosity, or a combination of all three, he really didn't know. Whatever the case, he ran to the far wall and began to slowly walk along the side of it to where they were playing.
