Al made a split-second decision and fled. He managed to throw himself out of the way just before Edward’s bare foot of flesh crashed down where he had been standing; hurtling him through the air in a powerful gust of wind. Lying on his back, the youth peered behind him and took in the factory-sized structure that was his big bro’s sweltering appendage. “T-too close…if I had hesitated for even a second more, I’d be dead right now!” That was the second time his brother had almost stepped on him! It almost made him miss the days he had towered over Ed as a suit of armor.
“Here, hope you choke on it.” Edward said scornfully as he placed a bowl of milk in front of the gold cat. Victor happily meowed and began lapping up the refreshing dairy product. Whether it ever cared about its tiny passenger’s plight or not, the feline completely forgot about everything else save the bowl of creamy deliciousness in front of it. Meanwhile, Alphonse wasn’t going let something trivial like almost getting crushed stop him from getting Edward’s attention. As he approached the giant’s bare stomper, his boyish face cringed as it was subjected to the foul stench plaguing the air. He could see salty dewdrops trickling down the warm skin of his brother’s foot; soaking into the hardwood floor beneath it and polluting the surrounding air with a most unpleasant odor. What’s more, the foot was producing its own heat and Al could feel his face grow hotter and hotter with every step he took. Soon his sibling’s foot was within arm’s reach and Alphonse stared up the length of the trunk-like leg as it stretched up to the heavens...
