Above, a fleet of rolling clouds blotched out the glimmering moon. A chill wind swept down upon the glowering thickets.
The jeep ran over a bump in the gravely road as I scanned the midnight landscape before me, a mere sea of jagged silhouettes. The equipment rattled in the back.
I turned on the radio to let my mind drift to something else. It came on alright. But the sound wasn't. It fizzed and whirred, making me dizzy. It made me so dizzy I didn't notice the road block before me. The world before me blurred and my body become loose like a ragdoll. I fell. And fell. And fell.
'Beeeeeeep! Beeeeeeep!'
In the nick of time I drifted back and the steering wheel lay clearly before me. I used it to maneouvre myself to a halt.
The lights of the jeep lay fixed upon a small group of police officers, approaching my jeep.
