Chapter #5

a lost or lonely teenage boy on the beach

    by: scriptboy Author IconMail Icon
John was walking along the beach as the sun started to go down. He felt great, being God and walking around with his omnipotence. But, he wanted to help more people and make a difference in someone’s life. So, he wished to be somewhere where he would meet someone whom he could help. He disappeared and teleported to the complete opposite side of the beach, where there was a long, wooden pier. A teenage boy was sitting at the end of the pier, with his legs hanging from the side of the pier, holding a fishing rod.

John carefully walked down to the pier and sat down next to the boy. The young lad had brown hair and bright blue eyes. He looked about sixteen years old. Thanks to John’s omnipotence, John figured out that the boy was an orphan and his name was Oliver. He was only fifteen years old. His real, biological parents had given him up for adoption because they couldn’t afford to raise him after he was born. So, Oliver was being raised by his aunt.

“Hey…” John said to the teen.

“Hi…” the boy said back.

“Are they biting?” John asked him.

“No… Not really. I haven’t caught a single thing all afternoon…” the kid grumbled.

John waved his hand, and suddenly, the boy felt something pull on his line. I stood up and began to reel in his line. There was a small fish hanging from the hook at the end of the line!

Oliver quickly pulled the fish off the hook and then he tossed the struggling little fish back in the water!

“What did you do that for?” John asked him. “You caught something and you threw it back!”

“Oh I wasn’t planning on keeping it!” Oliver laughed. “I just wanted to catch something for fun!”

John stood up and shook the boy’s hand.

“My name is John…”

“Hi. I’m Oliver, but everybody calls me Ollie!” the boy said quietly.

“So, do you live around here? Do you fish a lot?” John asked him.

“Yeah…” Oliver said, with a sad expression on his face. “Thanks for sitting with me. I usually have to do this all alone.”

“Why? Don’t you have a father?”

“No… I’m adopted. I live with my aunt. I’m all alone. I don’t have a father…”

John felt really sad. Oliver seemed like such a nice kid.

The two started walking along the beach. John wished for Oliver to trust him completely. No sooner had he made his wish or Oliver showed him his house where his old aunt lived. The old woman was almost 80 years old.

“I think I can help you, Oliver…” John said to the boy.

“How’s that?”
