Chapter #3
Questioning yourself
by: Unknown
"Don't be ridiculous," you say. Your Mom's voice, firm and incisive, emits from your lips. "You're me. You know what happened. Now change me back!"
"Mom, I don't know what you're talking about!" your body insists. He's sitting on your bed with a scared expression. "'You're me'? What does that mean?"
"What do you think that controller is?" You walk closer. Pointing. "You pushed the button, right? And what happened then?"
"I, uh... I don't know! Nothing!"
"Why am I acting like this, then? Who do you think I am?"
"Mom, please! You're freaking me out!"
Your old body gets up and wriggles around you before you can grab him. He's still holding the control. You try to seize it but he's already past you, running for the door. He slams the door behind him. And now you're back in your room, twenty years older, in the body you had come out of it. "Great," you mutter, sitting on your bed. "Now he thinks I'm demented." You look at your clock. The time is 4:00. About ten minutes after you used the controller. "The hell am I supposed to do now?"
