You are Link, the hero of time. You come from the land of Hyrule, or at least one of the iterations from it. Another Link is also participating, but he doesn't come from your Hyrule. You had been heading to the gym to do some training when you stumbled across the package in the hallway. Never one to turn down free loot, you pick up the box, make sure no one else is around who could have dropped the box, and head to the nearest room, which happened to to be the leisure room, to sit down and find out what's inside.
Luckily, there was no one around to question you on your find, so you take a seat on the couch and look inside the box. Inside you found something that looked like a TV remote, and some sort of manual. You frowned slightly, you were never that good with technology, but take a look through the manual regardless. To your surprise, it was no ordinary TV remote. According to the manual, it could alter the fabric of reality itself, albeit in a limited fashion. You were really curious to know if it worked now. You threw the box in the bin and tucked the manual away inside your quiver so you wouldn't lose it. You'd probably go put it back in your room later. Hopefully Toon Link wouldn't find it and ask you about it.
You get up off the couch, remote in hand, and decided to go look for someone to try out this remote on them. As luck would have it, someone happened to pass by the leisure room just as you were standing up. They didn't see you so they'd be perfect to try it out on, but at the same time you didn't clearly see who it was and you weren't sure if it was someone you even wanted to swap something with.
You quickly make up your mind that there's no time like the present to try it out, and you can probably just switch back once you know it works. Peeking around the corner, you see...
