"...Alverez family," he said. A name that you recognized immediately. Being the surname of one of your closest friends; Chris. Chris Alverez.

This obviously being cause for concern. Seeing how you'd known Chris (or Cristian) since middle school. Being... not exactly the smartest of your small group of friends, but he was definitely the friendliest. Short and chunky in stature, of Puerto Rican descent, with short dark hair, tanned skin and the very beginnings of a mustache. Both his appearance and the fact that he was incredibly gullible more often than not making him the butt of your jokes. Though he always took them well. Not fully realizing that he was being made fun of.

And as for who else was in the car, Chris had been at the game with his parents, two brothers and three sisters. So you had to assume that they'd all been involved in the crash as well. His mother, Maria being much like him. Short and thick, with long black hair and an incredibly warm and loving demeanor. A real 'motherly' sort of mom. The kind that was forever offering you food whenever you went round, and nearly always had her youngest child, Carlos under one arm. Who, having arrived less than two years prior, was still breast feeding and seemed to take up the majority of her time. His father, Hector, was slightly taller than the both of them at around 5' 6", with a goatee beard and a noticeable belly. Though, being in construction and spending most of his days lugging around heavy equipment, he was a lot more muscular. Carolina meanwhile was the eldest of his siblings. Being 20 years old and the same height as her dad. Slim with a pretty face, noticeable chest, long legs and a pierced tongue. Not to mention a incredibly fun and easy-going demeanor. Having always had somewhat of a crush on her truth be told. Next there was Joseph, Chris older brother at 18. Who, like Carolina, had managed to break from the short and stocky mold. A real gym buff, who, while still fairly skinny, was working to get bigger. Which his big sister constantly teased him about. Then came Bianca, who was 10. A cute and fairly well behaved child, who loved drawing and was the exact opposite of her younger sister, Alex. Who, at 6 years old, was a real handful. Constantly getting up to mischief and being chased around the house. A house that, due to how many of them there were, was more often than not a complete shambles. Chris and his siblings not being the end of it either. His family being HUGE. Which meant there was endless amounts of cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents forever shuffling in and out the door. The Alverez household being a constant hive of activity. Where Spanish was very much the preferred language. Some of them speaking nothing but. Which for you, always made things confusing. Having no idea half the time who was saying what.

Still, you really did enjoy hanging out over there, and you really did enjoy hanging out with Chris. Which was why you were extremely relieved to hear that they were all okay. Not wanting any of them to have been seriously injured. Especially as it was you who had invited Chris along to the football game in the first place (not realizing that he was going to bring everyone else with him as well). So therefore, it was kind of your fault that they'd been in the car.

The look of recognition that was obvious in your face as you reacted prompting Kerry to inquire, "Oh. So you do know them?"

Responding with a nod. "Yeah. Chris is one of my friends. We were at the game together."

This news provoking a slightly odd, almost worried sounding reply. "...Oh. Oh, really?"

“Yeah,” you nodded once again. Curious as to what that reaction was about. It seeming a little strange.

A reaction that continued as he chuckled nervously, "Well isn't... Isn't that something? Who'd have thought it?" Turning to look at Saunders, who still said nothing, but looked more than a little suspicious himself. Before Kerry hastily changed the subject. Assuring you that, "Well they're... They're all perfectly fine, as I said. Just a few scrapes, bumps and bruises. Nothing to worry about at all."

“Well that’s good to hear."

Asking a few follow up questions then, just to be sure. Which oddly enough, he seemed more than a little reluctant to answer.

Not that you had time to dwell on this. What with Saunders stepping in then and telling you that your own family were all very anxious to see you and apparently waiting outside. This, as fond as you were of your friend, being much more important. Desperately wanting to see them too and being similarly relieved that they had also made it out the crash unharmed. Which was how you imagined Chris had to be feeling himself. Being much more concerned with the welfare of his parents and siblings than with you.
