You opened the book to the first page and raised an eyebrow as you found a not that seemed to have been written to you. It read:
'John, if you are reading this it means that you have reached an age where you can see things that were before invisible to you. It is at this point you must make a choice. You must either be true to yourself or take the journey to rediscover yourself. No matter what you choose, you will learn there is far more to you than you could have ever imagined. This is not an easy choice to make, John; you must consider this carefully. My love, always; Mom.'
"That's weird." Shaking your head, you muttered.
"What's up?" Looking over your shoulder, Harry asked. He looked at the book. "It's blank."
You turned to Harry as if he had lost his mind then turned the page to find it filled with letters but they were all in a language you did not understand. What made it more curious was that they seemed familiar somehow like a language you had spoken years ago but had forgotten. "You don't see the words or pictures in this book?" Confused, you asked.
Harry shook his head, chuckling. "You're funny, bro." he said. "It's probably a journal one of your sisters picked up from the mall."
"Yeah... maybe." Closing the book, you said. "I'd better take this to mom. She can find out who it belongs to and give it to her."
You walked down the hall to mom's study; the door was open. You stepped inside to place it on her desk but paused as you spotted a letter from a school you did not recognize. Curious, you looked at it and found that it was a private school inquiry letter with you name on it!
"It looks like Mom is thinking about sending me away, just as she did with Hayley and Mel." Worried, you said. "Only what is this school?"
You looked at the letter again and found that there were two schools offering to accept you due to excellent grades and a 'powerful potential'. One was Witchbloom all girls boarding school and the other was Witchstone all boys boarding school. This only made you more curious as you never heard of either school. Still, you were not about to attend an all girls boarding school, being a boy. Also, you were not sure you were willing to just up and leave as Hayley and Mel did.
Later you decide to question mom in private only when you finally got a moment with her, she did not seem to be in the mood to talk. "I'm sorry, John but I am very busy right now." Patiently, she said. "You may ask me one question but make it quick."
You sighed, frustrated and tried to think of what would be the most important thing to ask mom and finally asked her about...
