22 year old genius, Tom has been living with his girlfriend Katie for almost 2 years now. Although Tom asks himself "How?" every day they spend together. Tom is clearly punching above his weight with Katie. She is gorgeous. A beautiful petite girl with the looks of a model. People often remark about her resemblance to the singer Ariana Grande, both in face and body type. Despite this Katie is still insecure about her height of 5'2. She always complains that she wants to be taller. Of course Tom was secretly happy she is short. At 5'4 himself he wasn't sure their relationship would last if Katie was much taller. He already had to put up with a parade of guys hitting on his girlfriend all the time. Sometimes right in front of him! He dreaded to think what would happen if she got even hotter.
Over the summer Katie's younger 18 year old sister, Jessica, has come to stay with the couple. Just for three months while the two sisters parents are on holiday. Jessica is everything that Katie is not. Whilst Katie is a confident party girl who loves to go out and socialise, Jessica is rather timid and bookish, preferring to spend her time indoors reading. It hasn't helped Jessica that she didn't inherit the same stunning looks as her older sister. Mousy and dry skinned, Jessica has the look of a pale geek girl, a sharp contrast to Katie's beauty. The only thing the sisters seem to have in common is their height. Although even there Katie has her sister beat by a couple of inches, with Jessica only standing at 5'0.
Living with both of them in the same house together Tom has seen a new side to Katie. One he didn't know about. Katie can be quite mean to her sister if she wants to be. Sometimes she makes fun of Jessica's appearance or choice of clothes. She seems to enjoy having someone around who is shorter than herself. Almost like it makes her feel taller.
Most of the time however the three of them get along well enough. Sometimes even spending the day together, be it out shopping or going to the park. On one particular shopping trip a tall handsome stud hits on Katie, much to Tom's annoyance. Except to make matters worse, this time the guy assumes that Tom and Jessica are a couple. Katie finds this hilarious and Tom is not amused.Vowing to not be humiliated any further Tom decides to use his big brain and knowledge on Biology to create a formula to enhance his appearance as well as make himself taller.
After days of hard work and kept a secret from Jessica and Katie, Tom perfects his serum. Unfortunately upon ingesting this formula nothing happens. All of his work is for nothing and he is still the same 5'4 scrawny plain faced guy he was before. In his disappointment Tom forgets to hide away his serum and leaves it on the kitchen table of the house. Little does Tom know that Jessica has been awaiting a delivery for her shampoo. A brand of shampoo which just so happens use the same bottle Tom used for his serum. Unaware of her error Jessica takes the bottle simply assuming her delivery came a few day earlier than expected. She then begins washing her hair with it every morning.
As the days go by Tom gets over the serum and moves on with his life, resigned to be the same height he is forever. However he notices something strange is going on with Jessica. The blemish's on her face are starting to fade. Her hair is starting to look healthier, fuller and more lush. And her teeth look straighter and whiter. In fact her whole face is looking more attractive. Maybe she was just a really late bloomer and she's finally growing into her looks.
Although things get stranger from there. One afternoon Tom finds Jessica at the foot of the stairs struggling to get her shoes on. Only through the combined efforts of Tom;s help are they able to squeeze them on her feet. And the day after that Jessica complains about the washing machine shrinking her clothes as everything she wears feels tight. Tom isn't sure if he's seeing things but he could swear it seems like Jessica had more of a figure now. Especially her chest. Jessica had never had more or less always been flat chested before but now whenever Tom sees her he cant help but notice two slight bulges. He has a sneaky suspicion she is taller too. When he sees the two sisters together he cant help but feel there was more of a gap between their height before. Jessica only looks like she's an inch shorter than Katie now.
Then one morning Tom checks the post to find a delivery for a special brand of shampoo for Jessica. Tom's struck by just how similar the bottle looks to his serum, even the colour of the liquid inside is the same. Slowly the pieces start to fit together as Tom realizes that his serum might not have been as ineffective as he first thought. Except now instead of working for him, his girlfriends sister was using it for shampoo. Completely unaware it was causing her body to develop rapidly and making her more attractive!
The gravity of the situation starts to sink in and Tom realizes just how much of a predicament he is in. If Tom tells Jessica about the shampoo he doesn't know how she might take it. She might be upset about taking with unknown side effects. Worse yet she might tell Katie about it! And then his girlfriend will know he created a serum to make himself taller because he was insecure about their relationship.
