Kid-hating middle-aged Mr Jeffries lived on his own in a shack with a large and weedy garden at the end of the street.
"Summer, I really don't think he'll like us when he catches us trespassing" Mouse worried when Summer practiced her new lock-picking skills on the front gate. (It was an old garden door made out of planks nailed together and a giant padlock on it that gave in easily after Summer picked at it with a tree branch for five minutes.)
"Don't worry Mousy, I know how this one goes. The mean old man always lives alone because he has a tragic romantic secret and he actually has a heart of gold, he won't mind us after we show him some friendship." Summer was sneaking behind the house, with Mouse reluctantly legging behind.
"I think you're stepping on his flower bed" Mouse pointed out.
"Ah...Well they looked like they weren't watered anyway, I don't think he cares for them very much anyway."
"What are you doing to my prize winning petunias?" they heard a cry and saw a fat man with a beard hurry towards them.
He grabbed Summer in an instant and put a screaming Mouse underneath his arm.
"I told you kids a million times to stay off of my property!" he yelled angrily and carried/dragged them towards the shack.
"I'm not going to let it pass this time. You naughty brats need to be punished."
