Chapter #5

Gary and the Monsters

    by: Derpus Author IconMail Icon
You held onto your book bag and tried to look out for any trouble... only to get smacked in the face by what looked like a blue and white ball. "Augh!", you screamed as you fell backward, landing on your butt. "What the heck?! Who threw that?!" You looked down at the object that was thrown at you... which quickly looked up and you and spoke.

"Guh!"

"AAAAHHHHH!!!", you screamed as you crawled backward. It was a zombie's head! Specifically, it belonged to Gabe, the zombie boy in your class. You would soon be backed up against something, causing you stop in your tracks. You looked up to see a pair of figures looming over you. One of the figures was Gob. He was a big, chubby goblin boy who was as gross as he was dim. Even though he was the more jovial of the group of bullies, Gob was still just as monstrous as his ancestors. Though... you couldn't help but feel he was kind of cute in a way...
The other figure was Gabe's headless body. The zombie boy liked to dismember himself to pull disgusting pranks on you and your classmates. Even though Gabe was the smarter of the trio of bullies, he was only able to communicate in grunts and groans, with the most he was ever able to utter being "Guh!". While Gary, Gob, and a few others were able to understand him completely, you were not part of that group. Coupled with his nature as a prankster, and it made it extremely difficult for you and others to get a read on him. Even still...

"Haha! You were right, Gabe", said an all too familiar voice, "The way that dweeb shrieked was priceless." You looked forward and gulped as you saw the leader of the monstrous trio. Gary. Terror of the third grade, the biggest bully in Spectrum Bay. He tossed Gabe's head back at his body while Gary made his way toward you.

"Yea, dat wuz a grate plan dere, Gabe", chuckled Gob. "We's gotta try dat again sumtime!"

The zombie boy plopped his head back on his neck stump and twisted before pushing down to keep it in place. "Guh!"

As Gary walked toward you, you couldn't help but blush a little. He might have been the biggest bully in the world, but you still felt like he was a little... "Dang it!", you thought to yourself. "How come I'm like this?" It wasn't long after moving to Spectrum Bay that you began to experience changes in yourself. You found yourself getting easily flustered around anyone you thought was even a little bit cute, and that umbrella was starting to grow wider. And it seemed to get worse whenever you were stricken with squishieness like you were currently.

"Hehe, I was hoping to catch that squishy little nerd, Jack, but I guess we juuuuust missed 'im", Gary said. "Too bad. I was really hoping to stuff that weirdo up my butt for the test today."

"Ey, boss", Gob piped up. "You messed wif 'im last time. I wanted a seat cushion t'day."

Both of them were then interrupted by the zombie boy. "Guh!", Gabe interjected. "Guh-guh!"

"Bubblegum?", Gary asked. "Man, with how much your breath reeks, that'd be messed up", the bully laughed before turning his attention back to you. "But, since we can't find him, I guess these two are just gonna have a messy meal... unless you tell me where he is."

Seeing the two monster boys' mouths watering was enough to make your face go white. Gob and Gabe might have been friends with Gary, but they were very much still monsters, and regularly ate like it. Which had very messy... and very painful implications for non-squishy people. Of course, the barrier meant that anyone would still be coming back, but it was still a process that most people didn't want to go through. "Um, I-I-I don't know where he went! I-I didn't see him this-"

You were suddenly interrupted by Gabe sniffing you. "-snfffffff- Hnnn... Guh!"

"What's that Gabe?", Gary asked his zombie buddy.

"Guh-guh! Guh!"

"You say that dweeb goes squish, too?", Gary asked.

The three bullies looked down at you grinning. "Izzat tru?", Gob asked.

You gulped as you looked up at them before scrambling away and running away as fast as you could. Running into those bullies was the worst thing that could have happened to you.
"Hey! Get back here and get up my butt, you squishy wimp!", Gary yelled as he ran after you.

"No way! I needs sumfin comfy for my butt!", the chubby goblin cried as he followed.

"GUH! GUH-GUH GUH!" Gabe lifted his arms and started running after you as well.

You panicked and broke out into a sprint, ducking in the trees to try and lose them. You looked around and heard their voices getting further away. "Phew! I lost them", you said to yourself as you turned a corner. "Now to get to class before-" You were interrupted as you ran into something soft and squishy, the surface bouncing you back. "Oof!"

"Well howdy!" Said a familiar, friendly voice. You looked up to find that you had run into Bryan, Jack's younger half-brother. He used to be much smaller and weaker, but following a trip with his mother, the country boy had grown much bigger and gained a considerable amount of weight, making him one of the biggest elementary students in the school. "Didn't reckon ah'd find ya out here." Bryan said as he helped you up. "How come y'all're in such a hurry?"

You panted and wheezed as you tried to catch your breath from the short sprint away from the bullies. "Gary *huff* and his gang are after me *pant* cus they can't find Jack… you haven't seen him have you?"

"Yep!", Bryan said as he lifted his shirt and sweater vest. "I done had 'im for breakfast!" You could hear some muffled cries as Bry patted his tummy, causing the layer of fat to jiggle.

You felt bad for Jack, and felt like you could relate to him a little more. Both of you now had little brothers that thought you were the tastiest thing ever. Only Bryan was much bigger than Jack now. As much as you wanted to help your friend in his hour of need, ticking off Bryan, especially in your current state, was not a good idea at all. Besides, he wasn't doing it to be mean. He was just playing around, not unlike Stevie. "H-hey, uh, Bryan?"

"What's up?", Bry answered.

"If those guys come this way, can you tell them you didn't see me? Or tell them I headed somewhere else?", you asked.

"Sorry, but I can't lie like that", Bryan replied. "My momma said ain't no one ever told a lie that didn't get what was commin' to em."

You weren't sure what he meant by that, but you could hear the bullies getting closer. "B-but if you do, then, uh… I'll let you in on mine and Jack's fighting game night!"

Almost immediately, you saw the fat boy's gut wobble and shake, his meal letting out muffled cries of protest. Jack clearly wasn't on board, but you had to think of something.

"Aw, really?! Golly… I don't like lyin' but Jack never lets me play his vidya games… I reckon there ain't no harm in it jus' this once", Bryan said as he pulled his shirt back down over his thrashing tummy.

"Th-thanks Bryan!", you said before running off. "See you at school!"

Not long after you left, Gary and his cronies met up with Bryan.
Even though Bryan was a squishie like Jack, Gary and his goons never really messed with him. They tried to a few times, but they didn't feel right picking on someone already dumb as a brick when he was small, and now that he had his growth spurt and weight gain, he was too big for them to mess with, so they tended to just ignore him. But they wanted their toy, and Bryan was the only one around.

"Hey, kid! Where'd that wienie, Andrew go?", Gary asked.

"He done went somewhere else", Bry answered.

"Huh? That... of course he went somewhere else, you dingus! I'm asking where he went!", the bully demanded.

"I can't tell y'all that", Bryan responded. "He done told me to say he went somewhere else while he was headin' to the school."

The three bullies stood there in silent bewilderment. "Uh... alright then..."
"Guh."

=================

You panted as you managed to make it to the school grounds. "Finally...", you said to yourself, "I'm home free..."
Unfortunately for you, fate had other plans, as your book bag was yanked back, and you along with it. When you looked back, you were horrified to find Gary and his two monster goons pulling you back.

"Hehe, that fat kid sure is dumb, but you're even dumber", Gary laughed.

"Yea, all we's had t' do was wait for ya t' show up", cackled Gob.

"Guh! Guh-guh-guh! Guh!", Gabe grunted.

You panicked and tried to cry out as the bullies pulled you back. "H-hel-MMMFFF"
You were quickly silenced as Gary grabbed your mouth and squeezed it shut.

"Can't have ya messing up our fun now!", Gary said, winking as he wagged his finger back and forth. You briefly blushed a little. He and his goons were about to torture you. Why did you suddenly find the big bully cute?
"Since that little nerd is churning away in his fat brother's gut, I guess you're gonna be the entertainment for today. Now up my butt you go." You let out a brief -squeak- as Gary grabbed you and began to squish you into a more manageable shape before Gob tried to pull you over to him, stretching you out.

"Nuh-uh, you ain't!", cried the chubby goblin boy. "Gimme back my seat cushion!"

Gabe began pulling toward his end and grunted. "Guh-guh!"

You mentally screamed as the three of them stretched you out, feeling as though you were about to rip at any second. The three bullies continued arguing while they had a three-way tug-of-war, fighting over which of them was going to have you as their toy for the day.
The question is, who wins?
