Monk

For all practical purposes, healing magic can be divided into two categories: healing magic that relies on energy from other planes, and healing magic that relies on the energy of this plane.

The spells that tap into the energy of other planes usually rely on bribing, threatening, placating or cajoling the beings that live on those planes.

The "spells" that use the energy of this plane are a bit more complicated, Sometimes it's something as simple as knowing human anatomy, so if a friend is injured, you know how to sew them up, what blood vessels to avoid, etc.

Sometimes a "spell" is knowing what herbs to brew together, how to prepare the proper poultice, etc.

Some healers can direct the energy of their own bodies, accelerating their own healing. They can also use their own energy to help direct the body energy of others to do the same thing, even "adding" some of their own energy as needed.

Some healers can even use the energy inherent in certain artifacts or natural objects to heal others.

Some practitioners use a combination of the two types of magic. For example, the priests and priestesses of the Order of the Lavender Rose worship a pantheon of minor deities and celestial beings known for their healing powers. But clerics of the Order were also well known as herbalists without peer,

As a monk, you rely strictly on the energy of this plane. You have trained with druids and rangers, alchemists and herbalists, physicians and mystics. You know what flowers and weeds to gather and how to use them. You know what crystals to use and where to place them. Even little mundane things like how to cleanse and bandage a wound are within your purview of talents.

You are also incredibly attuned with your own body, Which means not only can you direct your own body's energy to accelerate your body's healing at a near miraculous rate, you can (to a limited extent) do the same with the bodies of others. True, it is an incredibly taxing effort, but it does give the chance of life where it might not normally exist otherwise

And being so attuned to your own body lets you do other things as well. You can slow down your breathing, make yourself nearly impervious to pain, jump from great heights without worry and use your own limbs as fighting instruments with devastating results.

You leave the Heroes Academy with a staff (the only weapon you can use, besides your own hands and feet), a robe (you're unable to wear armor of any sort) and a sense of purpose and accomplishment. For you are about to

You have the following choices:

1. join other recent graduates on a great adventure

2. travel to a distant monastery for further training
