This choice: Free day, get to know one of your neighbours • Go Back...Chapter #2Free Day, Get to Know One of Your Neighbours by: Alistair As you finish in the bathroom, what it was that you had planned for today still hadn’t come to you, so you decided to check your calendar. Looking at it you saw that you had no plans for today, which was actually pretty rare for you these days, and you likely wouldn’t get another day free for a while once you started your internship.
After thinking about how you could spend your day, you decided it would probably be a good idea to get to know one of your neighbours. You had talked to some of them a few times, but you wouldn’t consider any of them as friends yet. You hadn’t made very many friends since you finished university, and those that you did have were moving on with their post university lives, some were moving, others were too busy since they were now focused on their careers. So you decided that making friends with some of your neighbours would be a good idea.
You sat down and thought over your potential choices for who to go and visit.
The first choice that popped into your head were the two women who lived across the hall from you, who you were already fairly well aquatinted with, Bonnie Fraser and Violet Quinn.
They were already living in the apartment across from you when you moved in, and through the few interactions you have had with them they both seemed nice.
Bonnie is originally from Scotland, which her vernacular and faint accent gave away when you first met her. She is absolutely beautiful and informed you that she is a dance instructor. Every interaction with her has highlighted her friendly nature, as well as a large amount of playfulness and flirtation on her part. She actually makes you fairly nervous, you are not used to that kind of attention from women, combined by the fact that she is very out of your league, making it difficult for you to talk to her.
She would be a good option because you know she is friendly, and she lives right across the hall from you, plus you haven’t seen her leave yet so she is likely still in her apartment.
Her roommate, Violet Quinn, was another good option. You hadn’t talked to her as much as her roommate, due to her being much less outgoing than Bonnie, but her shy and timid personality was one you found easier to deal with than the high intensity and energetic exuded by Bonnie. You know that she is a baker, and is still in college training for a culinary degree.
You had just watched her leave her apartment, however, and you weren’t sure when she would be back, so you would have to keep an eye out if you chose her.
The last person in Greentower that you had any experience with was the person you had just this morning watched trample on a tiny guy, whether out of a lack of awareness or a lack of care you couldn’t be sure, Chloe Kim.
Chloe was something of an enigma to you, from what you have gleaned about her, she spends a considerable amount of time on her computer, between her programming job and playing video games in her spare time.
Whenever you have talked to her she was nice enough, and talked passionately about her interests. She was always pleasant to you, but on other times, like this morning, you have seen her treat tinies very callously. It was almost as if she wasn’t willing to put in the effort to avoid tinies when they got in her path. One thing in her favour is that she never talked down to you.
Another benefit of going to see her is that it would give you the opportunity to rescue Andrew, who you had watched get squashed into the treads of her shoes as she walked past your apartment.
The last option you can think of would be to go to one of the communal areas of the building and try and meet someone there, such as the laundry room. That had it’s own risks but there was always a good chance of finding someone there. There was a designated tiny section that had areas where you could hand wash your clothes, so maybe you could get someone’s attention from the safety of there, you did need to do some laundry so it would kill two birds with one stone.
1) You decide to go across the hall to spend some time with the flirty, energetic Bonnie Fraser.
2) You wait on the shy, sweet Violet Quinn to come back, planning to catch her in the hallway.
3) You make the trek down the hall towards Chloe Kim’s apartment, hoping to get to know the careless, geeky girl better.
4) You decide the best place to meet someone new would be to go to the laundry room. Grabbing a hamper filled with your dirty laundry, you make your way down the hall.
5) You decide to try and meet someone in another area of the building (Writer’s choice). indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
