"Your door? What's wrong with it?" Zea said as she turned around.
"Well, for one you broke the lock." You went over to the door and picked up the latch that broke off when Zea broke in. "See? This part's supposed to go here," you explain as you hold the latch in place.
"Really? What's that supposed to do?"
"D-do you not have locked doors where you come from?"
"What? Of course we do! My palace, I'll have you know, was protected by the finest locks in my empire."
"...were they in the doors they locked?"
"Of course. That'd be silly. During the night they are fastened onto little hooks on the door and in the morning they were removed."
From what you hear, it sounds like they just used padlocks. "Okay, since you clearly have no idea what this is, I'll just call someone to fix it."
"Wait! Uh- I'm sure if you let me look at it-"
"Have you ever even fixed anything yourself?"
"Uh...no..."
"Yeah, sorry. But I think it's better if you don't do something that will end up breaking things more." Zea's large dragon claws didn't look that handy anyway.
"Well, is there anything I can do to help? Oh! I know, I can gaurd the door until it is repaired."
"Guard it?" you ask.
"Yes. Back home, when the palace doors are unlocked, they're always guarded by the royal guard. The doors were guarded when they were locked too, but the guards made the locks redundant. So, until your door can be locked safely, I can be your gaurd."
"So, basically you want to be my new security system?"
"Essentially. I can sleep in here on your couch."
"Well, that's actually a good idea." Especially since you didn't have an extra bed for the large monster woman anyway. You agreed just on that alone. "With that settled, I'll go make that call."
