Inara was brought from her slight trance by movement outside her room.
"What do you want?" She called out moodily, knowing exactly who it was.
Sure enough Captain Reynolds poked his head round the corner, and Inara rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Just thought I'd inform you that we're gonna be landing soon" He said simply.
"Oh, will I actually be able to find a client on this landing?" She said, the hostility showing in her voice "Or is it a a 20 minute landing, a fight, and a hasty exit like last time?"
"You know how Jayne gets after a couple of whiskeys" Mal said simply, "If that guy hadn't of given him the hairy eyeball, I'm sure that guy would still have his eyeball"
Inara looked uninterested at Mals attempt at humour so Mal moved on quickly.
"If all goes well this could be a long stay, we need work to you know. I'm sure you'll have enough time to... do... what you do..." He trailed off at the end deliberately, and Inara narrowed her eyes at him.
"Well good then, if that is all you may now leave" She said.
Mal stared at her for a few moments before turning on his heel and leaving the room, leaving Inara glaring after him. Although she refused to show it to Mal this news had actually brightened her spirit considerably. It had been many weeks, possibly even months, that her and the crew had been allowed to get away from the ship for more than an hour and she thought it would do them all a lot of good.
