There are many ways to find inspiration to help us start writing or overcome a block. This week, we will go over a few ideas, and I'd love to hear from you with your ideas, too! To leave your feedback, send me a note via the comment section below.
 Reading
I know, that seems obvious, right? What I'm suggesting is that you should expose yourself to new ideas and techniques by reading a variety of genres and writing styles. Doing this could inspire you to try a new technique or inspire new ideas.
Location, location, location
Do you usually sit at your desk and gaze out the window? To change your view, try heading out for a walk. You can also go to a coffee shop or diner and people-watch or eavesdrop. Pay attention to mannerisms, how folks dress, body language, etc. Trying different writing locations can spark new ideas.
Personal Experiences
Think about your life and experiences, things you may have wanted to do differently or again. How would you do these things differently?
Writing Prompts
Writing prompts can give your writing a jumpstart. Instead of taking a word (or words) at the standard definitions, grab a dictionary and look up other meanings or explore the etymology of a word.
Visit a Museum/Art Gallery
Many art forms, such as paintings, photographs, and sculptures, can be inspirational. Take it a step further by learning a bit about the artist.
Edit/Rewrite
Take one of your old pieces and rewrite it from a different perspective. Change the outcome, consider alternate what-ifs.

Thanks for sharing these interesting idioms. As with many languages, some things get lost in translation. It's the same with jokes in a foreign language.
