Letter from the editor

What comes after the Resolutions?

They say it takes four weeks to change a habit. Since many of us make resolutions for the new year, we are now pros at keeping those good intentions. Only two weeks left until the new us has become a steady habit. Whether you goal was to write daily, review often, or do anything else with more gusto on Writing.com and in the real world, you can find all the stimulation needed to keep your creative juices flowing by perusing the Contest and Activities pages right here.

Those resolutions you made and have kept until now are nearly second nature. You've made it far. The first drafts for those contests you want to enter are typed up, the daily notches on your belt of writing in your blog, reading and reviewing more, eating healthier, or doing anything else differently are still exciting, but not all that shiny anymore. Time to move on to the next thrill.

Some people on the site have left all that December and even January cheer far behind and are already looking out for the next festivals and seasons to celebrate. There is Valentine's Day and Easter to plan for. If you're done with your Dear Me letter, it's time to stop thinking of yourself and let romance take over. Raffles and auctions for the next season are springing up and waiting for your participation.

It's a tradition. On New Year's Eve people look back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. They take the time to reflect on the changes they want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

Ask & Answer

Question for you to answer for my next newsletter, at which time Valentine's Day will be a thing of the past! *Shock*
At which point to you stop worrying about your New Year's Resolutions and start looking forward to the next festival that is meaningful to you?

Only one message from last month from Kathleen Author Icon, she wrote: Thanks for including the Advent Calendar 2010 activity in Editor's Picks. Your mention guided members to the activity to share in the fun. *Delight*

You're welcome! It was a ton of fun. Where can you have a chance to win something for nothing but knowing which day of the month it is! It was a blast and really made the countdown to Christmas a whole lot of fun. Especially the last days when everybody was struck by how fast the time was flying by.
