After The Party
I'm sure everyone is having a fantastic time this week participating in all the birthday activities and contests. I hope everyone had a wonderful time meeting new members and doing some creative writing for the contests. I'm just dropping a little reminder to check back in all the places you entered to congratulate the winners and thank the host for holding the contest or activity. Encourage the host to hold another round of the contest or activity if you really enjoyed it.
What to do after the birthday celebrations? Edit all those entries and perhaps add to your word count to help flesh out the scenes, characters and plot line. Those are great items to have in your portfolio to enter contests later on, that allow items written for other activities.
After visiting all the fun activities set up for the birthday celebrations, did you get some fun ideas for an activity of your own? Now is a good time to set that up while the ideas are fresh in your mind. Even if you don't have time to run the activity now, you can keep it set on private until you're ready to open the activity in the future. (Christmas is right around the corner!) You can always passkey the page and have a friend take a look to see if you have all the necessary rules and nice formatting.
This month's question: Which birthday contests or activities did you enjoy? Send in your answer below! Editors love feedback!

Excerpt: This is the Talk About Anything Forum. Use this as you'd like- to chat, brainstorm, brag, rant, meet new people, or discuss other topics if you're trying to not spam the newsfeed!
Excerpt: It has been proven, time and time again, that when you have a support system in place, your chances of success are much higher! So whether you want to lose weight, eat healthier, or become more fit (or even all of these things), having someone to be accountable to, and to go through the process with you, will increase your chances of success significantly.
Excerpt: This page is a project of Rising Stars. We developed this page to empower and encourage a wide variety of WDC members' contests, writing resources, and special events on W.Com, many of whom can't afford to promote individual activities.
Excerpt: Can you compose a symphony? Can you make us dance to the beat? Rhyme and meter are two of the basic building blocks upon which many other poetic devices are built. And they can be difficult to master. This contest will focus solely on traditional poetry using meter and/or rhyme. It is through those devices that we begin to feel and hear the beat of the poetic heart.
Excerpt: This will be an on-going monthly contest. Every month I will post the 'cover art' from one of those great, old pulp magazines, and you will write a short story, of say, no more than a 1000 words, that best describes that cover. Some of them will already have titles which you can choose to use or just make up your own from the inspiring art work. Write whatever you want in whatever genre you like, as long as it pertains to the monthly cover image.
Excerpt: Contest MISSION: I want to read some nonfiction encompassing something 'Controversial'. Abortion to religion to the benefits of boredom, the sky's really the limit here (both entries in Round I). Why? Because I enjoy it! More information? Be VERY opinionated. You should support your opinions through examples, a statistic or two if needed, and... crafty writing
