O, Sweet World

Preparation for a long day in reality.

I prepare for each day with a shower in the dark.
Then, with a small paring knife,
I carefully cut out each eyeball
And tape them to the top of my head
With duct tape.
They look like small antennae,
Or tiny Mickey Mouse ears.
And I fill each eye socket with bourbon
So I can drink it later at the office.
O, sweet world.
