| Yellow school buses –a parent’s dream Summer’s ended the children scream Get on the bus-don’t be late They find a way to hesitate While mom makes lunches to-go Yellow school buses-slow me down Shopping all-day up-turns a frown Soon the children will be home today Their bus stops at the corner in my way While mom ponders~ ”What’s for supper?” Yellow school buses- they’re just a dream School supplies and paper, by the ream They’re all just thoughts of years gone by Kids all grown up; mom lets out a sigh While mom adds pages to her scrapbook Yellow school busses –they line the street Six in a row makes it so neat She sits and looks out the window where, Children are running, but hers aren’t there While mom sips her tea and weeps So this little tale is for parents everywhere Love and cherish your kids; those moments you share Quickly enough the children are grown You are needed much less, as they’re on their own While memories of mom, are passed on through the years |
