A poem I wrote for my mother for Mothers' Day when I was younger. I love you mom! |
Nurtured Seed by Brandon McClaskey The strength of love between A mother and son, from the time of birth, Is stronger than the force Attracting the moon to the Earth. I haven’t lived long, But in my time, I’ve witnessed many family ties And truth be told, I will tell no lies. There are so many mothers out there That simply plant their seeds But never water them, Nor care to their needs. You have changed your life To make sure my petals never wilted Even though, at times, I chose dark instead of light to where I tilted. You never gave up on me, Just picked a new pot to put me in. Which is where I learned to Rightfully pick righteousness from sin. Now, as each new day is passed, A new lesson is learned. A new destination in mind. A new corner is turned. I can’t wait to blossom And plant seeds of my own. I’ve made it past the hardest stage of life And my roots have grown. One day, I hope to repay you For everything that you’ve done. However that will not include giving you A granddaughter. Sorry mom, I’m having a son. |
