I walk through the day, or is it night?
My eyes no longer see the light.
They only know silence, these eyes of mine,
No reference to place, company or time.
My eyes, they watch, but do not speak,
Silently begging for the escape they seek.
Yet I refuse.
I stand alone within my mind,
As the fear inside renders me blind.
You can gaze deep inside, but you'll never see,
The hatred and sadness that won't let me be.
Wretched thoughts race through my head,
Inevitably leading to the tears that I shed.
Hopelessness, regret, and unbearable pain,
I'm forever taking the walk of shame.
You can try walking in my shoes, but you'll never tell,
That these silent eyes, they live in hell.
After years of hiding my problems away,
These silent eyes now beg to be slayed.
But forever pretending that everything's fine,
Makes it harder to let go, to talk...to shine.
