Manger Feast The vision for a manger dwelt in one man's heart With tools of precision he did his part, For creatures in the stable a safe place to go. One and all are gathered at the feeding trough One day was a bit different when an ass entered town, Bringing young Mary to a place yet unfound. She came there with Joseph, taxes to pay. Soon enough they would find there was no inn to stay. Off at the stable was a manger freed, A perfect place for this baby all came to see. The creatures all were singing as the baby was born, Swaddled in blankets all safe and warm Even today people remember that day, The offering of a manger for the infant to lay. A feast had been offered from the good God above, For a savior named Jesus to adore and to love. The manger sits ready for others to come, Bringing burdens and debts in the name of God's son. The gift is forgiveness is for those old and young, Food always ready for a new life begun. Praise God for the manger, the place the babe stayed, Mary and many others fed on God's grace. Next time you see one thank the creatures provision. They gave up their manger, what a glorious vision |
