A poem about being a poet and how that voice within you can help others unlike you. |
-A Voice From Deep Inside- by Keaton Foster Silence Hear Know Be sure Never Not for a second Doubt Resist Please Fight To further persist Give life A war The battle For the ages Let them know You are here Make sure Without question That a part of you Will always remain Once you are gone A voice From deep inside Speaks Hear its words Pen the page Takes what’s pure Make it a mess Stain the sheet Mark the age Leave all wisdom Second guess None of it Spell out What you are told Write it down Allow others To make sense Allow them To see madness To feel brilliance Embracing All that you are All that has been So that they can grow So that they can know That there are people Those mired deep That can teach That can inspire From all darkness Comes truth and light From every sadness Comes a measure of Absoluteness They must know And like it or not It is you That must show them A voice From deep inside Is both Your gift and curse But unlike most You somehow Make it work You have managed To embrace Every once Of your madness Every spectrum Of your sorrow Others can propagate From what you know Others can live Vicariously through you And your words Of unbridled truth I’ve seen it through I know what it means I understand the need And people like you Are the only ones That can meet it Take your gift Sure it’s more curse Make it truly work God above will judge The devil below will know Between them both Your life may go But for now Stay as neutral As you possibly can Give neither one Anything to tip The balance In the others favor Have faith But more importantly Have questions Regarding that faith There are no Intentional fools There are no Burdensome rules There is just What you hear And how you express it A voice From deep inside Is both who you are And what you can do Be a poet mired by reality Fear nothing of who you are Or What you have experienced Because through you And your words There will be others That will be able to avoid What has brought you here What has driven you Down such a narrow path Be not only a versifier Be a martyr for your kind Because in the end Long after all of this What you’ve done Will remain as something more That who you were… A Voice From Deep Inside Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
