Ten More Steps

 
 
Ten more steps
to your door
the portal
the realm

No longer
an endless path

an unending illusion or delusion

The windings and wanderings of the past
are things I sat down today

The need
the want
the desire

my life struggle could have been dropped
long ago

It seems
the surrender
could’ve always taken
but ten more steps

I did not need
to walk a lifetime to realize
had I let go
of searching for dreams

the void would have
found me long ago

ten more steps
are nothing
