A poem about the chaos of emotions. |
September 26 Prompt ▼ Emotional Madness Feelings oscillate back and forth They dip so low, and fly so high Catapult one from cheer to fright Swirling, spiraling out of control Lagging, falling into deep chasms Clawing back into the light. One wishes for peace For a chance to place a thumbtack Firm into the surging flood And still the emotional onslaught That threatens to overtake you. Try rigging the wayward strands That flip and unfurl Leaving behind a frenzied mess. Breath in the calm And force it out in a steady stream. Find stillness by closing your eyes And envisioning a peace That blossoms within you. Let the rage abate And leave in whiffs of smoke As you settle into yourself Soon the emotions will follow Swirling into a gentle caress. 24 lines. |
