Finality

Endless spirals as walls close in,
tighter, blacker, worse than sin.
Unending heartache,
unyielding pain,
mental clawings, metallic din.

Sinking, weeping: a soul is sold.
In precarious anguish lies forbidding cold.
Unforgiving,
undone living,
it matters not that lies were told.

A tug of war with fragile rope,
swallowed pills give faulty hope.
Unheard questions,
untold truths
blind ability to cope.

Innocuous words meant to heal
often do not depth reveal.
Unanswered pleas,
undo us all,
and thus we're left to coffin seal.

Deafened to exterior sound,
focused inward; answer found.
An end to pain
seems final gain,
when there's silence all around.
