Love Letter to You There’s nothing I would rather do, Than feel you blow through my prongs. I never knew that love could hurt so much, But seeing you blow across the land, Feels like a hand punching a hole through my heart. How could a love like ours, ever be distracted, or even neglected, when you’re just so perfect? Don’t you remember the night it rained? You whipped and whirled, my whole world, and if god isn’t real, I don’t know how. Because the way you whistle against my ear, How you blow against the window to get to me, Forces me to believe that you love me too. Please, Don’t let me be wrong. Love Letter Back to You The silver in your eyes, Reminds me of the evanescent edge of the moon, And how it is always there, Even when it is not needed. My fingers wrap around the handle of you, To grip the reality that, You force my heart to twist and turn, Until it can no longer sustain itself. It collapses and empties itself into my chest And now it’s filled to the brim; I can no longer breathe. You suffocate me in the best way possible, So why do I find myself, Blowing to the edges of the Earth, to escape your three-prong puncture of my heart? If you truly loved me, You would understand that, I am a beast that cannot be maintained, No matter how often I blow you away. |
