This is a companion to "The Contest Challenge"  for those who are working to do every single month of my challenge or who are working backwards or out of order to finish 12 consecutive months sooner than a year.

This is simply a tool for you to use to help keep track of what you've done. The official record is on the official challenge page, "The Contest Challenge" . Find your name under "Current Competitors" and be sure our records agree. Black months or missing months indicate that I have no record of you participation that month.

To use this, print or copy/paste and print this page for your own records. Recording the date you completed a month can help if there is a discrepancy between what I believe you've finished and what you believe you've finished. For those who've asked for a better system, I hope this helps!

Tips ▶︎

Tell me when you are done! When you have completed your year and you are posting your last entry, tell me it's your last one. Occasionally I don't notice and I'd hate for you to miss your celebration! And consider telling me you will finish next month to be sure my records correspond with yours so there isn't an issue the following month when you actually finish.
Catching up is allowed! Don't sweat it if you get behind.
Always use the CURRENT prompt! No matter when you are entering a contest, always use the current prompt, even if you are catching up from months or years ago. And when catching up, include the month and year in the title of your forum post here to ensure you get the correct credit.
Work backwards to finish sooner! If life is about to get really busy, but you don't want to lose out on all the months you've done, work backwards to finish sooner. If you start in June of this year and by February of next year, you don't see how you'll be able to do March, April, and May, do them for the previous year. So long as you do 12 months in a row, I don't care what order you do them in. Just finish.
Do every month since the challenge began (no matter when you joined us or WdC) and get a giant celebration every January! Each January I celebrate everyone who has done every single month since the challenge started. It's a GIANT celebration! There are GPs, MBs, raffle tickets, and an assortment of other things during the whole month. Even if you weren't a member when the challenge started, I allow catching up, so it doesn't matter. You can do it!
Double up your activities! Consider joining "I Write in 2020"  (restarts every January, but allows joining until June 30) or "Invalid Item"  (restarts every June). "I Write in 2020"  requires entering a contest every week, but doesn't care which one, so you might as well join "The Contest Challenge"  as well--you know, the whole 2 birds, 1 stone thing. "Invalid Item"  requires you to write a specific form each week. I pretty much always highlight a poetry contest, but sometimes they require their own form. This activity will also work well with "The Contest Challenge"  many weeks/months, but not 100%.
Look for contests that allow previously written items, especially if you are trying to catch up.
Pause for a better prompt in the perfect contest. While I don't necessarily recommend this, if you are dying to enter a specific contest, but hate the prompt, consider waiting until next month when the prompt changes. I allow catching up if you miss a month. Just be sure the contest you want to enter will be open the following month. I especially encourage this if you are trying to catch up and so being a little behind is okay.
