Love hearing about your Broadzilla! I love "vintage" cars.
When we were kids, my father just had to have an old used Cadillac. He drove home with a '56 one day to my mother's shock and awe. We had some fun times driving in the back on that lush sofa-like seat. There's something to say for those vintage vehicles that added comfort, and headroom within the enormous bodied car.
My parents blessed me with Lyndalee but my sisters were Lori, Lisa and Ann. Then add insult to insult my middle name is Irene whereas theirs were each Marie. Not the worse until you add our last name. MY initials were LIP, Lori's and Lisa's LAP and Ann's AMP. Then as we aged, my mother said she named me right because she knew I would be the mouthy one.
Good ol' feet. These days the feet are pretty sturdy. It's the knees that ache and the left hip that aches when it's crabby aka inflamed. Inflammation... that's another story. There's always a battle there now that menopause has come and gone.
Growing up in New England I remember the humidity was pretty darn humid. It is even when I visit. Causes a lot of frizz in the curly hair. Mini-splits are good for New England. My friends in NH have them. Here in Cali the heat is dry, but HOT. Not yet. The hot months are usually July, August, September and then it cools down again in Oct.
As for the snake, I'm glad she pulled over and got the heck out of the car. I remember I was camping with the boy scouts and when into the wood to pee. Pee'd right next to rattler who was all coiled up and sleeping. Took a pic of it and high tailed it out of there!
What an adorable story! I love your granddaughter's version of those names. Kids so do that! My youngest daughter as a toddler, called people names based on how she heard them too.
Our neighbor Mr. Hudera became Hu Mr.Dera. He loved it!
Yes, finding a name for a baby takes some thinking. There is one thing a mom-to-be who's surname is "Hunt," should remember ...Don't name your son "Mike."
I loved this entry! There's plenty of humor, but plenty of examples to make one really think about names. We looked to the Bible for inspiration for our boys. I think the best name or the not so best name depending on your perspective, that I ever heard was Wolfgang for Wolfgang Van Halen.
I do not tolerate hot and humid well. Thankfully, we have AC in the house. I bought the Mini-Split heat/cool system. It's better cooling than a window AC. I'm in Florida in the winter so don't need to run the heat when I'm gone because my house's plumbing is winterized.
I do use the heat part for fall and early spring, though.
