From a moment of reflective thought.

I'm just a statistic now!

As I get older, (I'm a Senior Citizen)
   I'm just a number. (I get Social Security)

Life beats me down, {I'm retired)
   pain deep in my lumbar. (I'm on Medicare)

A number, a stat, (I have cancer)
   but no bellwether (I no longer matter)

Like puzzle pieces (I'll soon pass on)
   that fit together, (I'm forgotten)
