A story about a boy, who happens to be a fairy, and his adventure to save his sister.
The Fairy Conquest

The fairy boy, William, was walking along a path in the middle of the forest at midday.

William’s younger sister, Sophie, had been kidnapped yesterday by a group of trolls. While talking to one of his many informants, William discovered the whereabouts of his sister and was now off to save her.

Several miles down the road, William came to the boarder, which was a magical line set up around the area of land. Each different race of creatures only had so much land and all of the races have set up boarders to monitor who comes in and out of whose territory. Starting with the fairies, next comes the goblins, the elves, the wizards, and finally the trolls.

“Who may I ask is preceding into Goblin Gorge?” asked the soldier at the gate. The security in all the lands had gone up since the trolls just recently started kidnapping other creatures.

“William, from the house of McFay,” William answered. He watched as the guard recorded his name. Then the guard pulled out what looked to be something like a remote. There are three buttons on the remote, a yellow, red, and green button. The guard pushes down on the yellow button, and only a small part of the magical border disappears. William walks on to the other side of the boarder and moments later, the entire boarder is back to being one complete line.

A goblin guard pops up in front of William. “Who may I ask is entering from Fairy Fallow into Goblin Gorge?”

“William, from the house of McFay,” responded William. The guard jotted the information down, and William proceeded on his quest to rescue his sister.

After walking for a little while in the forest, William came upon a small community. The goblin’s houses were similar to his in that they were built up on the land and made of bricks. The houses also had windows and doors. The difference was the fairy houses were very bright, almost glowing, and the goblin houses were just darker.

William made his way towards the group of goblins gathered in the middle of the community. The group could be heard chanting, “Yellow bellied, yellow bellied James! Go ahead and run yellow bellied, yellow bellied James!”

The next thing William knew, something came flying at his legs. POW! William looked down and saw a goblin, who looked like he had been crying. “Hello,” William said while helping the goblin to his feet. “My name is William.”

“I’m James,” the goblin replied.
William, who could tell the goblin was embarrassed about being teased by the way he held his head down, bent down and whispered, “I’m on my way to save my sister from the trolls and I could sure use some help. What do you say, are you going to help me?”

“Y…you heard what th…they called m…me.”

“Well then it’s a good thing that I’m not them. As a matter of fact, I think you look very brave. So what do you say?” William asked again.

James looked up at William and saw the kindness reflected in his eyes. “I’d be more than honored to help you, William,” James answered.

The two new friends set out together. When they reached the boarder, William gave his name, as did James. Both passed from Goblin Gorge and into Elfins’ End.

The duo noticed the river that was now running parallel to their path. “Help!” they heard someone scream from over by the river. William and James looked at each other, and then took off at a neck breaking speed over to the river. As they quickly got closer to the river, they saw someone hanging onto a branch over the side of the cliff.

“Hang on, we’ll help you,” William yelled out to the elfin girl. William turned to James and said, “I’ll hold your feet and you pull up the girl.”

“Okay,” James replied. James lay down next to the edge of the cliff while William grabbed his legs. Then James began crawling along the cliff with his hands and onto the branch. He grabbed the girl’s hands and yelled back up to William, “Okay, pull us up!”

William pulled and pulled and pulled with all his strength and James and the girl came tumbling up over the side of the cliff. “Oh, thank you, thank you!” the girl cried. “You saved my life. How can I ever repay you?”

“You could at least tell us your name; we are just passing through,” William said.

“Oh, my name is Elizabeth, and I can do something better for you than just telling you my name. I shall accompany you on your journey. Some of the kids tried to push me in the river, and that’s why I was hanging from the branch.”

“Well, just so you know, we are going to save William’s sister from the trolls. By the way my name is James and that’s William” James said, pointing toward William.

“Sounds like an adventure,” Elizabeth exclaimed excitedly.

The trio walked until they got to the boarder and then passed through into Wizard World. The three newly bonded friends were almost at the boarder when they saw a wizard walking in the other direction and right past them in a hurry. A few moments later, they came upon a boy, who was just staring at the boarder.

“Are you okay?” William asked the young man.
The young wizard looked up at William, “No, my teacher has told me that I must go complete some heroic task before I can finish my wizard training, but I don’t want to go alone, I’m afraid.” A tear trickled down his cheek.

“We’ll, we’re going to save my sister from the trolls, and we would love the extra help if you wanted to join us,” William spoke up.

“You really mean that? You’d really let me come along? That’d be so great, thank you. I’m Ryan,” the wizard in training said. The other three told Ryan their names.

Now it was time to cross over into Troll Town. The group of four very different people walked up to the boarder, stated their names, and then crossed over. William had found out that his sister was being kept in one of the caves, and was told where the caves were thanks to his informant.

Moments later, the four friends were standing before a cave opening. They quietly walked into the cave. They were coming up to the first turn and four pairs of heads went up to peer around the corner. There was only one troll guard who was guarding the entrance to the next room.
“I know just the spell to put him to sleep,” Ryan told his friends as he leapt out from behind the wall they were hiding behind, wand in hand. “Slumba Yanta!” Ryan yelled as he pointed the wand at the unsuspecting guard. The guard could instantly be heard snoring.

Ryan was showered with praises of congratulations. The group continued onto the next room. This time there were two troll guards pacing back and forth with axes swung over their shoulders. That last spell of his left Ryan a little drained; he couldn’t possibly take on two more guards.

“We’ve got it!” James and Elizabeth said in whispered voices. James dashed over towards one of the guards and was quick as the speed of light, while Elizabeth was on the other guard in the blink of an eye. James bit the first guard at the same time Elizabeth bit the other guard; both guards let out identical howls of pain. A second later they were both unconscious on the floor and James and Elizabeth sat between the two guards with big grins plastered on their faces.

Then they entered last room, the room where Sophie was being held along with a couple of others. William saw the back of what must have been the mastermind of the kidnappings. William sneakily crept towards the unsuspecting troll, his fairy dust that could knock a person out in seconds in his hand. Just as James was getting ready to throw the dust on the troll, the troll turned around and scared William, who fell back, dropping the dust. The big troll grabbed William’s leg and dragged him toward a cage when William grabbed some of the fairy dust that had fallen on the floor. When the troll went to pick William up to put him in the cage, and William threw the dust on him and knocked out the troll.

William and his sister lived happily ever after by William’s newfound friends.
