I stopped writing for 3 years because I found my stories to be disappointing. Truthfully, I didn't want to put in the time to revise my works. Recently my granddaughter, Danika, (age 9) won first place in a literary competition along with a cash prize. There is little doubt about her talent and I see similarities in our styles. We write on the dark side. No rainbows or unicorns for us. We actually gave each other the same Holiday gift, which was a box of small post-its to hold a place in a story for later reference. Unfortunately, we have an unreasonable fear of the dark. There is no end to our terrors. Hence, we write.
