Summary of this Book...
The Bone House is another great suspense/thriller by Brian Freeman. A teenage girl is found dead on the beach and the primary suspect is Mark Bradley. He lost his teaching job a year prior when he was accused but never convicted of having an affair with a student. His wife, Hilary, is determined to prove him innocent but the small community bands together against them.
This type of Book is good for...
Brian Freeman writes great suspense novels that will keep your interest throughout the entire book.
I especially liked... | ||
I enjoy the author's characters, twisting plots, and the fact he does a pretty good job of keeping everything pretty believable. I can depend on a page turner and a guessing game to find out which trail the author takes the reader down to find out the end.
I didn't like... | ||
Although I enjoyed the book, this one seemed more on the surface. It skimmed along and didn't seem to delve too deeply into the main character, Cab Bolton. I realize it's the first in a new series but there wasn't much there in character development. Cab went nowhere, seemed above his work, and wasn't all that interesting. there was an instance of what I felt was a character lapse. I didn't believe certain actions of supporting characters. One in particular didn't lend himself to being believable in his actions when things were at the climax and solutions were being resolved. It's surprising since this author writes such good characters.
Further Comments... | ||
I will pick up more of this series of books and in fact, have already read the second in the Cab Bolton series. I found out later the author meant this book as a stand alone book which may be the reason he didn't delve deeper into the protagonists character for this book. It wasn't until fans wanted more that he decided to continue as a series.
