A courtroom drama with all the precision and intensity needed to make a really good novel. An ex-con artist, turned ex-lawyer, who is made to represent the head of the Russian mafia may sound a little out there but the author, Steve Cavanagh, has some skills. If this mobster has kidnapped your daughter to force you to represent him and plant a bomb to kill the prosecution's star witness, you would do what you could to save your daughter, right? The protagonist was a lawyer and a con-man. It gives so much credibility to the fact that he might be able to come up with a plan to figure out how to save his daughter.The action doesn't stop when even more obstacles are thrown into the mix and Eddie Flynn needs to continually re-evaluating his situation. | ||

You would never suspect this is Steve Cavanagh's first novel. It is that good. | ||

A perfectly paced novel with lots of twists that kept me reading. A great first novel by this author. I will be coming back for more. | ||
