On the eleventh day of November, we take a moment to remember the sacrifices that our soldiers made with bands and flags and veterans on parade. High school students march with horns a-tooting, while crowd along the street is saluting. Then, the backyard barbecues commence, hosted by patriotic residents. |

Heroes, each and every one, On a mission to protect our freedom, Never faltering, never wavering. Obeying command to go, Regardless of risk or cost, Imparting our sacred values, Navigating global maze, Giving notice to the enemy. Over and over again, Undaunted courage Responds to threats. Welcome to my writing nook beside the babbling brook! I pause to gather my thoughts here, where life goes by in lower gear, communicating with the birds, translating their songs into words. Deer and squirrels come around where peace and quiet abound. |
We sail the distant seas, complying with Commander's orders, so we can minimize the threat which lurks beyond our borders. Through all kinds of weather, we take the fight to them to ensure the future will not bring another Nine-Eleven massacre. |
We are itching to explore something new, when August seduces us with pleasant weather. We leave together in tie-dyed Volkswagen bus. There's nothing finer than roadside diner to meet and greet local folks, linger for a while and share friendly smile beneath sprawling ancient oaks. We are having a sweltering heat wave, and Mom is burning to a crisp, poor thing. She sits beside the pool with drink in hand while her skin gets red and blistered, poor thing. We are staying cool while swimming in pool, unaware of Mom's dilemma, poor thing. Come time to leave, we find her shriveled corpse, still sitting there with drink in hand, poor thing. Note ▼ |
